After all, it is a product of science and technology, with higher performance, and it is normal to replace incandescent lamps on a large scale. Not only that, LED lights are also claimed to be an excellent energy-saving product, but many people do not buy it. Many consumers say that LED lights are very power-hungry and have a short lifespan. Is there really such a thing?

What is LED light

LED is a light-emitting diode, a solid-state semiconductor device that converts passing electrical energy into visible light. The core of the LED is a semiconductor chip, there are a total of three ports connected to the outside, each port has a different role. One end is connected to the bracket, the other end is the negative electrode of the chip, and the other end is the positive electrode connected to the power supply, and the epoxy resin on the outside tightly wraps the three ports and the entire chip together.

The semiconductor chip inside the LED lamp consists of two parts, one part is a P-type semiconductor, in which holes dominate, and the other end is an N-type semiconductor, which is mainly electrons. But when the two semiconductors are connected, a P-N junction is formed between them. Whenever the current passes through the chip, the electrons will be pushed to P by the internal device, and overlap with the holes in P, and then the energy can be output in the form of light, and we can see the light emitted through the LED. .

The light emitted has different wavelengths, and these wavelengths determine the color of the light, which can emit red, yellow, blue, green, cyan, orange, purple, and white light, and the color change is determined by the material used to make P-N. . For example, LEDs using cadmium zinc selenide semiconductor materials can emit green light, aluminum gallium indium phosphide can emit yellow light, and aluminum gallium arsenide can emit red light.

At first, LEDs were not used to make electric lights, but to make indicator light sources for instruments. Later, people found that LEDs can emit light of different colors, and the energy consumption is lower than that of incandescent lamps, and the light efficiency is better, so people use LEDs in traffic lights and various digital displays. Since the large-scale promotion of LED, it not only saves more costs, but also improves the light effect function of light-emitting objects, and soon replaces the original incandescent lamp.

If it is a street lamp using an incandescent lamp, the power consumption needs to be 140 watts, and after some filters, the original 2000 stream of white light instantly drops by 90%, and only 200 stream can be used successfully. After using LED lights, 18 LEDs are installed in the street lights, and only 14 watts are needed to pass through the filter, emitting the same 200 streamer effect. In such a comparison, it is obvious who is stronger and who is weaker.

Another huge advantage of LEDs is their extremely fast response speed. If you use an old-fashioned incandescent lamp, many times after the switch is turned on, you have to wait for a short time before the lamp will slowly flash. The LED is not the case, once it is powered on, it can light up immediately. Therefore, LEDs have been widely used in the brake warning lights of vehicles, which can turn on the lights in a very short time to remind the vehicles behind to stop in time and reduce the occurrence of rear-end collisions.

Nowadays, LED lights can be seen everywhere in people's daily life, and the lights used in every household are basically LED lights. But soon, people found some problems in the process of using it. Compared with old-fashioned incandescent lamps, LED lamps claim to have a longer service life and save more power, but people find that this is not the case during use. The power consumption is high, and the replacement frequency is high, which is prone to problems . So why do businesses still advertise this as an "energy-saving product"? Are they saying this as false propaganda?
